This pandemic can leave you feeling sad, lonely, bored, and even helpless. Let’s change that. As unknown as this uncharted territory seems to be, we have complete control over how we navigate our days, inside our homes on lockdown. In fact, we can find ourselves productive, creating new habits, establishing different routines, learning something new, or even having fun! Let’s flip the script on all things negative at this time and try to make the best of our staycation!

Here are 10 surprisingly fun activities for lockdown:

#1

Try hosting a virtual get together with all of your friends! This could be over coffee, tea, or your favorite glass of wine. It could be one–on-one with your closest friend or someone you haven’t talked to in ages! Or even a whole group of friends. How touched would someone be if you made this extra effort to reach out and connect?

#2

You can also host a virtual accountability group to stay productive and in charge of your days. I have found this to be incredibly helpful and consider having everyone set forth a word of intention for the week! Discuss weekly challenges and setbacks along with personal wins and goals for the week ahead!

#3

Create a new self-care routine! This could be a new ritual you’ve created to start or end your day or anything in between. Start a relaxing rose quartz face rolling routine or facial massage regimen with your favorite products to relax and unwind.

#4

Which leads me to, this is the perfect time to organize and swap out old skincare and makeup and switch over to cleaner products! This doesn’t have to be a clean sweep, but notice the things you do not use or could replace with a cleaner healthier version. I fell in love with BeautyCounter products because they are not only clean, but are animal and environmentally-friendly (and work!).

#5

You can do the same right now with your cleaning products for the kitchen and overall house. Chemicals and toxins within cleaning products wreak havoc on your system whether you realize it or not. This is the perfect time to make those clean swaps!

#6

Plant-ify! Indoor plants are a natural way to purify the air inside the house eliminating harmful pollutants. Not only is decorating your home with plants incredibly beautiful, it has numerous health benefits; mental, physical, and emotional! Extra credit: try to have at least one plant in each room!

#7

Take up a new creative hobby or new skill! This is the perfect time to explore something you have always wanted to try. It could be anything – knitting, sewing, drawing, making jewelry, soaps, baking, trying a new recipe, etc. Intimidated to flex that creative muscle? Try a YouTube video to learn a new technique or skill. Want to dive deeper into your own personal creative vortex? Here is a post about cracking open the inner artist – you can read about The Artist’s Way here.

#8

Start or join a virtual book group! I have a few friends doing this right now and I think it’s a great opportunity to read more, meet new people, and find connections with like-minded friends at this time.

#9

Try something different with your fitness regime. What do I mean? Maybe you’ve always been interested in Pilates, ballet, barre, or weight lifting. This is a time to experiment with something new with all the different resources online for free! Try YouTube and type in your interest and see what pulls up! Or how about learning something completely new like a handstand or doing the splits? AloMoves has great videos on how to tackle the more challenging moves to make them your new reality!

#10

This is the perfect time to level up your wellness game and get serious about nutrition, mindfulness, spirituality, and fitness. Your staycation can be the next big reveal of the healthiest and happiest version of yourself. Eat healthy foods that nourish your body, find movement practices every day, and go within for a deeper connection with yourself. It just so happens my program, Holistic Healing Solution will start soon which is perfect timing for a wellness reset!

It turns out there are plenty of creative ways to stay connected with ourselves and others at this time. Let’s flip the script on any negative feelings or self-talk at this time and instead find ways to express ourselves creatively, find connection, joy, be productive, and maybe learn something new. Stay safe and sane and sending my blessings to all!
