Blood oranges are so dark and beautiful that I love to bake them in the oven to make them into “candies”.

Either a sweet tooth snack all by itself or as a delightful touch to any salad that needs a zing, think of making Blood Orange Candies next time they’re in season!

Blood Orange Candies

Ingredients

  • 3 whole blood oranges skin on
  • 1 tbsp date sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
  • Slice blood oranges into 1/4" thin slices.
  • Place slices evenly on a baking sheet (lined with tin foil), with slight space between each slice.
  • Sprinkle slices with date sugar and cinnamon.

  • Bake for 2 hours.

  • Once baked, cool for 5 minutes before either eating or using as a garnish. Enjoy!
