Blood oranges are so dark and beautiful that I love to bake them in the oven to make them into “candies”.
Either a sweet tooth snack all by itself or as a delightful touch to any salad that needs a zing, think of making Blood Orange Candies next time they’re in season!
Blood Orange Candies

Ingredients
- 3 whole blood oranges skin on
- 1 tbsp date sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
- Slice blood oranges into 1/4" thin slices.
- Place slices evenly on a baking sheet (lined with tin foil), with slight space between each slice.
- Sprinkle slices with date sugar and cinnamon.
- Bake for 2 hours.
- Once baked, cool for 5 minutes before either eating or using as a garnish. Enjoy!
